Bad Tim! Bad!

As you may know, I have made a concerted effort to pay off the balance on my credit card. Through watching my pennies, and making sure to leave that evil wafer of plastic in my wallet, I've managed ot cut my balance down by about 25%. Today, my effort took a major step backwards.

The problem with photography is that good glass isn't cheap. Sure there's lots of cheap lenses out there, but they produce cheap looking pictures too. Nasty vignetting, soft looking pics, and other nasty artifacts turn otherwise great shots into throw aways. How do you beat this? You do what I just did. You break out the walled and plunk your hard-earned cash down on L series glass.

Behold, my new purchase:

What is it you ask? That is Canon's EF 200mm 2.8L. In other words, its a fast, very sharp prime telephoto. It's a great lens, but it takes away any excuses I would have had with my 28-300. If the pictures I take with this look shitty, I have nothing to blame but myself.

Yeah, I shouldn't have, but I did. And I can't WAIT to get my paws on this beauty! Now if I just had a 1.4x converter to go with it...
